Explore the Galar Region

Galar features a mixture of cities, countryside, forests and other environments to explore. During your journey, you will encounter wild Pokémon, trainers and important characters who help move the story forward.

One of the standout areas is the Wild Area, where players can freely explore a large environment and encounter Pokémon with different levels and types.

Build Your Pokémon Team

Catching Pokémon is only the beginning. You can train your team, choose different moves and develop strategies based on the Pokémon and opponents you encounter.

Furthermore, Gym battles provide important milestones throughout the adventure. Defeating Gym Leaders helps you progress toward the Pokémon League and your goal of becoming Champion.

Dynamax and Gigantamax Battles

Pokémon Sword introduces Dynamax battles, allowing Pokémon to become dramatically larger for a limited period during certain battles. Some Pokémon can also use the special Gigantamax transformation, which changes their appearance and provides unique G-Max moves.

These mechanics add another strategic layer to important battles.

Multiplayer Features

Pokémon Sword also supports communication with other players for activities such as Pokémon trading and battles. Therefore, you can build your collection while interacting with other Pokémon trainers.
